| Monday, May 05, 2008 STAYING ON LIVES UP TO HIS NAME |
Staying On (seen here with groom Mary) gave owner/breeder Mark Dixon his second win from three outings in the 1m ½ f Handicap at Windsor this afternoon. From the ideal draw he hugged the rails all the way round, making it a pillar-to-post victory with just sufficient assistance from Adam Kirby to get him home by a neck. He showed real resilience – plus a hint of greenness - when challenged by the runner-up but he was not going to be denied and eventually it was almost ‘cosy’. |

| Sunday, April 20, 2008 NOVASTASIA - ANOTHER SUPERNOVA? |
The Happy Hoofers are hoping that they have unearthed another star, who is about to burst onto the racing scene. By champion miler Noverre, out of a winning French mare Pink Sovietstaia, NOVESTASIA was the name chosen for the filly by her owners. The attractive filly is in full work on the main gallops and will hopefully be making her debut over 6f in the not too distant future. There are still two shares available in her, so there’s still time to join the band of Happy Hoofers before she runs. |

| Friday, April 18, 2008 HE’S NOW A PERFECT CITIZEN |
Another of the two-year-olds was named today and this time it was the turn of the Proud Citizen x Near Mint colt, who henceforth will be known as Perfect Citizen. Following photographs with his owners Clark, Cunnane, Godfrey and Rice, the colt was ridden in his work by stable jockey Adam Kirby. After enduring biting winds watching their horse go through his paces, the owners were more than ready to sit down for a hearty champagne breakfast, to decide the horse’s name and racing colours. Hopefully it will not be long before he gets to the racecourse, where it is hoped he will also prove to be a perfect racehorse! |

| Monday, April 07, 2008 IT’S GOOD TO HAVE GOOD RELATIVES |
The prospects of our 2-y-o KINGS BEST x TRIPLE TRY colt were given a real boost over the weekend when his half-brother, Unwritten Rule trained by Dermot Weld, beat one of Aiden O’Brien’s strong Derby fancies over 10f at Leopardstown. This was Unwritten Rule’s seasonal debut, having won his maiden last August on his second start, and was rated 97 before the race. They could well meet again in the Group 2 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial back at Leopardstown in May and despite being beaten Washington Irving had his Derby odds shortened by Boylesports.
If you would like further details on our colt either ring 01442 851328 or e-mail us.

| Saturday, April 05, 2008 STABLE DEFINITELY NOT IN NEED OF "REHABILITATION" |
The stables great start to the season continued Friday night with a very impressive debut win for REHABILITATION.
The son of Dr Fong, from the widest draw, settled in last place and once realising what it was all about travelled well, making his move round the final bend. Under a professional ride, Adam Kirby sent his charge through a nice gap as the leaders fanned apart, taking the race by the scruff of the neck to win by a cosy length from the odds-on favourite. This was a very pleasing debut and congratulations to his winning owner Mrs Sue French for whom this was her first winner from her first runner!! |

| Monday, March 31, 2008 CURLIN - MARK II? |
Curlin’s stunning performance in last Saturday’s Dubai World Cup certainly struck a chord here and kicked the dream factory into top gear. Simply because Curlin’s sire is Smart Strike and is out of a Deputy Minister mare and, lo and behold, our 2-y-o has exactly the same profile. With racing’s dependence on and attachment to all- things-breeding, why shouldn’t we get excited, along with the fact that our fellow is doing nothing wrong either. He has not missed a day since being broken in and is now one of the regulars coming up to the main gallop each morning. Why not come and have a look for yourself? Lightning does ‘strike’ twice in racing occasionally. |
